What Would Jesus Do?

In Charles Sheldon’s book “In His Steps” we find ourselves in the town of Raymond where life is much like it is in other towns around the country. People have responsibilities and go about their busy affairs day in and day out. Sheldon introduces us to many of the upstanding and church-going citizens of the community, and we get a peek into who they are, what they think, and the role religion has on their experience.

Sympathy

We extend sympathy to Mrs. Karen Rood, secretary at Thaxton, on the death of her husband, Glenn, on Wednesday, August 21.

Prayer Warriors Needed

Would you be willing to become part of an Internet prayer team? The idea is to allow visitors to place a prayer request on our Website that would immediately be sent to prayer@sbava.org. This mailbox in turn would automatically and confidentially forward the requests directly to you. You would then add these items to your personal daily prayer time. Please consider the great need of this ministry. If you are willing to commit to prayer, let us know at sba@sbava.org.
Thanks!

Revolutionaries Needed

We continue to pray for broken spirits; broken and contrite hearts among our congregations. God is at work in our county planting churches, reaching internationals, evangelizing communities, and growing disciples. Where is God calling you to minister?

Paris Mission Trip

On August 3, our team left on a mission trip to prayer walk through Muslim communities in an area called Île de France. This area runs northwest to northeast of Paris, France. We stayed in a hotel owned by a Muslim family, just one of the many for whom we would be in prayer.

Monday through Friday, we traveled out to a different city north of Paris to spend time walking and praying. The SBC area strategy leader and our other missionaries serving in that area work with approximately 1.5 million Muslims who have primarily immigrated from North Africa. Kids clubs, Bible studies, sports events, and other activities are planned and organized to share the gospel with these people. Our team helped with the distribution of 800 children's books (French and Arabic) and 38 Jesus videos (French, Arabic and Kabiel).

SBA's Mission

Under the Lordship of Christ, to equip, support, and involve our family of churches in meeting the spiritual and physical needs of a changing community and world.

If someone were to pay you ten cents for every kind word that you have spoken about people, and collect five cents for every unkind word, would you be rich or poor?

Please have items for the October newsletter written and in the associational office by Thursday, September 19.
