The Countdown Is On (con't)

The big dates are May 2-4. This will be the culmination of some years of praying and planning that has been under way as thousands of believers from all around our region have come together in a concerted effort to share the Gospel message with their neighbors. Part of the sharing will be the Operation Andrew and Operation Andy efforts to invite friends and family to attend the celebration as our special guests. And don't forget the neighborhood prayer and visitation ministries that will take place during the month of April, especially Saturday, April 26.

The Festival will take place at the Salem Stadium. By now you should have your various congregational leaders and teams in place, and you should be participating in the important leader training classes that are being offered. If you need a copy of the Pastor's Booklet or the Congregational Leader's Booklet, you can download these from our Website at

The first children's choir practice was this past weekend, and it was fantastic! Two more rehearsals follow, one on April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Temple in Roanoke and the other on May 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the Salem Stadium just prior to their presentation and program with Bibleman.

The Pastors' Follow-Up breakfast meets on April 5 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the Tanglewood Holiday Inn on 419.

And have you seen the line up of Christian personalities who will be part of the Franklin Graham Festival? On Friday night Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder and Joy Williams will sing. On Saturday we will hear the music of Michael W. Smith and Mary Mary. Sunday evening Rachael Lampa and Nichol C. Mullen will help us close out the Festival. We are blessed to have such well known and powerful artists sharing with us!

As these final days move along, let's encourage one another to be involved in promoting the Festival and inviting people to be part of a wonderful weekend. Become actively involved in praying for Franklin Graham and all of the team members who come with the single purpose in mind to share the love of Jesus Christ.

Let's not forget the months of follow-up ministry that begin with the close of the May 4 gathering. Thousands of people will need a personal visit from Christians who are ready to help them begin their life in the Lord as they grow to become the mighty men and women that God intends.

By His grace we will see His Spirit move and be privileged to be one of those who tell what great things God has done in our cities!
