Ken Butterworth concluded his ministry as pastor of Diamond Hill in June. Being semi-retired, he is available for pulpit supply, revivals, etc.
Mentow will host a Fall Festival including a Hee Haw show on Saturday, October 30. The fun begins with a wiener roast at 5:30 p.m.
Mt. Zion in Montvale, invites you to their Fall Revival beginning Sunday, October 10, at 11:00 a.m., and continuing Sunday evening at 6:30, and Monday through Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Vernon DeLong pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Bedford. There will be special music each evening.
The Easter Brothers will be in concert at Trinity on Saturday, October 2, at 7 p.m.
Annual Church Profile material is due back by Thursday, October 7. Clerks, please feel free to contact the association office with questions or if you need assistance. Also, clerks are asked to mail names of messengers to the Annual Meeting with ACP info or enter them at the SBDS website by Thursday, October 7.
The meal for the Annual Meeting will be served at 5:30 at a cost of $10 per person. As a matter of courtesy, the clerk (or another individual) from each church should call a meal count in to Bedford, 540.586.9564, no later than Monday, October 11.
We would appreciate it if the form distributed to church pastors/clerks requesting names of representatives to SBA’s Executive Board for 2010-2011 could be completed and returned to the SBA office by Monday, October 11.
Final rehearsal for the associational choir is Sunday, October 17, 3 p.m., sanctuary of Bedford Baptist Church. Selections are: I Must Tell Jesus with Blessed Assurance, arranged by Mary McDonald, and Amazing Grace, arranged by Lee Turner. Please join us, even if you missed the first rehearsal.
A copy of the Proposed Budget for 2011 is included in October newsletter packets. Executive Board members also received copies at the called meeting in September.

Women on Mission: Thaxton will lead weekly devotionals at Oakwood Manor in October; Beaverdam will lead them in November. Timber Ridge will host the October birthday party for residents of Bedford County Nursing Home; Pecks will host it in November. We thank Beaverdam’s WOM who contributed financially to SBA’s CenterFest ministry.

Mount Hermon will have "Homecoming on Sunday, October 17, 2010.
Rev. Mark Flores, pastor of Mount Hermon (and recently promoted Major in the Air Force), has been on active duty, serving for two months as Chaplain at Aviono Air Base in Italy. He will be back in Mount Hermon's pulpit October 3.
Main Street United Methodist Church in Bedford is a drop off location for shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
